Minimum Requirements: • Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Architecture, Engineering or related field or equivalent practical experience. • 10 years experience in managing projects in the $20M and above range as an Asst. Construction Manager or Project Engineer. • Minimum of 2 years experience on California public works projects. • Ability to organize and manage contractors on complex projects and coordinate with public agency. • Thorough knowledge of engineering and construction principles, practices and procedures, applicable laws and government regulations, principles of management and supervision and procedures and policies of departments and facility. • Demonstrate proactive problem solving skills • Strong customer service skills • Excellent communication skills (written and verbal) • Experience in the public contract code arena • Possess a thorough knowledge of contract administration and office procedures • Ability to use working knowledge of working environment to meet established goals and objectives
• Must obtain a negative drug result on required drug screening.
• Must have a valid Driver's License Job Description: Assists in managing construction and renovation projects and works with other construction management staff on the new California Healthcare Facility for California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation in Stockton, CA . Reports to on site Sr. CM Duties: * Meets construction management operational standards by contributing information on strategic plans and reviews; customer relations issues; implementing production, productivity, quality, and customer-service standards; resolving problems; identifying engineering construction system improvements. * Assists with creation construction procedures to guide construction management staff in meeting financial and scheduling targets by providing annual budget information; monitoring expenditures and schedules; identifying variances; tracking and follow up on invoicing and payment; recommending ways to hold down expenses; implementing corrective actions. * Assists in preparation of construction progress reports for presentations at Board and executive session meetings by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing construction and budget data and trends. * Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities; reading professional publications; maintaining personal networks. * Work with the client, client representatives, staff and management in a collaborative manner within a context of good human relations.
