ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS The Grassland Restoration Intern will travel throughout the Prairie Forest Border Ecoregion in central and southeast Minnesota participating in preserve management activities which may include some or all of the following functions:

ADDITIONAL JOB INFORMATION AUTO SAFETY POLICY This position requires a valid driver's license and compliance with the Conservancy's Auto Safety Program. Employees may not drive Conservancy-owned/leased vehicles, rental cars, or personal vehicles on behalf of the Conservancy if considered "high risk drivers." Employment in this position will be contingent upon completion of a Vehicle Use Agreement, which may include a review of the prospective employee's motor vehicle record. ADDITIONAL JOB INFORMATION This is an excellent opportunity to understand the value of a functioning native prairie. The work is hard but fun. The people who will work with the interns are dedicated to prairie protection, enhancement and restoration and will help the interns appreciate this outstanding resource. The skills developed on this job can be applied to restoration of other habitat types. This job travels around the Central and Southeastern parts of Minnesota so the interns will see several preserves ranging from Tallgrass Prairies to Savannas to Sand Prairies. They will learn about a variety of plant communities, and the animals and birds that live there. They will also learn about the geography and culture of Minnesota.
