Minimum Requirements:
Education: High school diploma or equivalent.
Experience: Eight (8) years experience in related field inspector position.
Certifications: CTQP as specifically required by client/project.
License: Valid driver's license with a good driving record and the ability to travel and drive regularly, often long distances.
Must have:
-Expert understanding of inspection procedures, methods, principles and techniques of construction practices and building materials, technology and equipment.
-Ability to understand problems from a broad, interactive perspective and discern applicable underlying principles to conceive and develop strategic solutions.
-General understanding of the project delivery process and the interaction between the disciplines within a group.
Job Description:
The successful candidate will report to the Tampa office but may be assigned to projects spanning the state of Florida. This position is responsible for safely executing field inspections, documenting observations, and verifying work performed in compliance with specifications at various stages of construction for code and contract specification.
Duties include but are not limited to the following:
-Work closely with Senior Inspectors, Project Administrator or engineers to verify and document proper execution of project designs.
-Read and understand designs, specifications and plans, and schedule milestones based on the contract for various construction projects.
-Interpret design plans and verifies that the actual product being constructed conforms to the design and specifications.
-Document and verify that design specifications are implemented in the execution of projects.
-Collect and review design submittal specification data and documents acceptability.
-Document and report design variances.
-Verify that the contractor is creating project as-built based on change orders, information requests, design clarifications and shop drawings.
-Use principles and theories of science and engineering to prepare solutions to technical problems.
-Produce detailed reports, documenting that construction is adhering to the design requirements.
-Prepare daily report on the status of the work, including confirmation of work accomplished, available resources and jobsite conditions.
Prepares and updates various documents and spreadsheets for inspection reports.
-Participate in meetings to discuss design requirements and any variances requested.
-Assist with resolution of Request for Information (RFI).
-Processe payment review, confirm quantities and percentages of work completed in validating the contractors payment request.
-Review initial schedules submitted and schedule values with Project Manager, including materials and labor utilized last month and verify quantities on site.
-Relay instructions from the owner and the design professional to the contractor.
-Safely navigate construction work sites – roads, buildings, bridges and areas with uneven terrain. Stand and sit as needed on project work sites. Climb ladders, work at heights, and be able to work outdoors in a wide range of weather conditions.
