Minimum Requirements: • Master’s Degree in Engineering and/or Construction Management.
• Professional Engineer (PE) License
• Minimum 15 years of experience and proven track record of sales and business development with engineering organizations of similar size and complexity.
• Proven experience managing annual sales of $250 to $750 Million
• Broad experience in the water/wastewater industry including engineering design and engineering organization operations management.
• Industry leader with the proven ability to anticipate, articulate, and respond to national/regional issues that impact the water business and the construction industry.
• Proven knowledge of and relationships with major Project Owners, potential engineering partners, major contractors, specialty subcontractors, and suppliers.
• Proven experience with planning, design, and PM/CM services
• Proven experience with the full spectrum of alternative delivery systems, as well as ability to assess feasibility of alternative delivery prospects.
• Understanding of Teaming Agreements/MOUs and demonstrated ability for getting strategic and timely teaming agreements in place giving due regard to business considerations and risks. Job Description: • Grows URS’ firm wide public sector water business through the leadership and coordination of business development efforts of URS’ Group and Regional Business Line Directors and key technical and operations management staff including:
o Tracks market trends and economic conditions impacting URS’ water business;
o Develops specific strategies for increasing URS’ Public Sector Water Business market share;
o Works with Group and Regional Business Line Directors to identify major Public Sector water clients and to develop and implement specific sales plans for capturing and growing business with them;
o Participates in go/no go decisions and developing Teaming Agreements/MOU’s for Teaming;
o Leads/assists in identifying, tracking, positioning, and pursuing major Public Sector project opportunities;
o Leads/participates (in close coordination with Group and Regional Business Line Directors) in the development of firm wide sales and revenue plans for the water business;
o Monitors and reports on firm wide sales and revenue performance on a monthly and quarterly basis;
o Communicates regularly with Group and Regional Business Line Directors; and
o Identifies corrective actions for improving sales performance in regions that are not meeting their planned sales budgets.
• Develops water/wastewater and water resources marketing materials (SOQs, brochures, etc.) for firm-wide use;
• Works with Operations Management and Group and Regional Business Line Directors to identify and develop new capabilities, and assisting in the recruiting of key personnel that would enhance the firm’s competitiveness and growth in the water business;
• Increases URS’ visibility in the public sector water business through active participation in state and national organizations, and by performing high quality work; and
• Participates in project work through service as Project Principal, Senior Consultant/Advisor, and/or Project Peer Reviewer. EOE M/F/D/V
