POSITION SUMMARY POSITION SUMMARY The Nature Conservancy will employ two prairie managers to work from partner offices (Minnesota Department of Natural Resources or US Fish & Wildlife Service). The budget will provide for vehicles, office, field equipment, and fencing supplies to allow implementation of accelerated grassland management on Wildlife Management Areas, Waterfowl Production Areas, and select protected private lands. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS The Prairie Recovery Specialist (PRS) works closely with public agency partners to develop, manage and advance conservation programs, plans and methods for small-scale ecoregions. The PRS provides technical leadership and support to the Minnesota Chapter. This may include one or more of the following functions:
As part of the incumbent’s ongoing professional development, he/she will be responsible for keeping abreast of new conservation techniques and equipment to enhance skills and maintain/grow professional skills and/or credentials with particular emphasis on conservation grazing, burning, invasive species control, and prairie restoration. In addition, they shall work to build and maintain relationships in the professional grassland conservation community and in the local community where the Conservancy works.
