Environmental Health & Safety Auditor Careers – Atlanta, GA

The challenge? Serve the strategic and operational environmental, health and safety (EHS) compliance needs of our clients throughout North America, and globally as needed. Our Environmental Health & Safety Auditor careers provide you with an opportunity to lead the development and implementation of EHS services to industry. Each day, as part of our Environmental Compliance & Sustainability services team you will be the face of CH2M HILL as you lead multi-discipline teams of client and consulting staff in developing health & safety auditing and compliance services. You should be a self-motivated professional with a minimum of 7 years of health and safety experience, and have a strong background in EHS, along with a working knowledge of federal regulations that pertain to industrial plants (chemical, petroleum refining, power generation, mining, general manufacturing, etc.), capable of demonstrating a history of expanding work areas with existing clients and growing new productive relationships, and have a desire to grow personally as well as professionally with each EHS specialist job.

Our Environmental Health & Safety Professional:

  • Demonstrates project execution success on HS&E compliance projects for industrial clients including implementation of work plans, setting budgets, and developing project schedules as well as proven experience in leading teams of technical specialists to develop sustainable HS&E solutions with clients.
  • Maintains a strong working knowledge of various Health and Safety regulations. Has worked with clients to build Health and Safety programs, including HAZCOM.
  • Conduct pre-audit activities, including, understanding scope, schedule and budget as well as researching state and local requirements as needed.
  • Participates and leads multiple HS&E audits, with special emphasis on the H&S audits.
  • Conducts site visits to observe facility operations, interview staff, and perform records reviews to determine status of compliance with federal, state and local requirements.
  • Manages the delivery of projects involving HS&E, compliance assurance strategies, compliance auditing, permitting and design of associated work processes.
  • Has a working knowledge of federal regulations that pertain to industrial plants (chemical, petroleum refining, power generation, general manufacturing, etc.),
  • Interacts frequently with existing clients while build new relationships and network with client organizations, participate in technical seminars and conferences including delivery of technical presentations.
  • Develops internal relationships to support the overall growth and success of CH2M HILL's EHS practice, mentoring junior-level staff and stewarding client satisfaction.
  • Has project management experience, and possesses basis understanding of scope, schedule and budget considerations for projects.

    Additional Information:

  • Relocation assistance is not available for this position. CH2M HILL will not sponsor an employment visa (e.g. H-1 B visa, etc) to fill this position.
  • Basic Qualifications

  • B.S. in Engineering, Sciences or related field, M.S. preferred
  • 7 to 8 years experience conducting health and safety audits for multiple industries
  • Excellent skills related to analysis and application of rules and regulations.
  • Ability to work well in team atmosphere and apply direction from senior staff.
  • Working knowledge of Federal health, safety and environmental requirements.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel.
  • Able to provide high quality analysis and application of rules and regulations for online regulatory searches.
  • Ability to travel domestically
  • Preferred Qualifications

  • Professional registration as Certified Industrial Hygienist, Certified Safety Professional, Certified Hazardous Materials Manager, Environmental Auditor or equivalent commensurate with education
  • Environmental compliance experience with a with a working knowledge of federal environmental regulations Primary Skills-
  • Experience in a consulting environment is preferred, Department of Defense (DoD) experience a plus
  • Experience with health and safety audits at power generation facilities a plus
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills mandatory
  • Degree Required
