Role Overview

This position is for a Senior Electrical Engineer performing electrical and power system designs at a nuclear facility in Welch, MN. This individual will have an ovrerall responsibility for the production of engineering deliverables required to complete modifications to the nuclear power plant.

This individual will have responsibility for the following:

Responsible for the production of discipline design drawings, specification, calculations and design details including but not limited to:

Main single line
Single line/three line drawings
Plant Control Logics
System control schematics and logics
Wiring diagrams and terminations
Quantity tracking databases
Equipment and cable sizing calculations

Responsible for the production of specifications for electrical equipment in accordance with project requirements. Performs related technical evaluations of suppliers and review and approval of equipment design drawings.

Must work effectively within and outside the Bechtel disciplines, the client organization, and the Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC).

Required to perform Walkdowns of existing plant equipment and generate of walk down packages.

Candidate should have experience with industry regulatory standards, and design criteria pertinent to the electrical discipline including conformance to Equipment Qualification (EQ), Electrical Separation and Appendix R.

May have responsibility for the technical direction and training of more junior engineers and designers.

Provides engineering support of design through plant modification construction and startup.

Basic Qualifications

Bachelors of Science in Electrical Engineering (BSEE), Bachelors of Science in Engineering Technology (BSEET).
Minimum of 15 years of practical design experience in electrical engineering within an industry related to the above.
Candidates responding to this posting must currently possess the eligibility to work in the United States without sponsorship.
Candidate must be capable of passing nuclear security screening requirements and be able to obtain an unescorted access clearance to a nuclear power plant facility.
Business travel.
Candidate must have excellent written and verbal skills.
Candidate must be proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel.
Professionally registered engineer (PE) in the state of Minnesota, or the ability to obtain a PE in Minnesota

Preferred Qualifications

Minimum of 8 years of practical design experience in electrical engineering within the nuclear power industry.
Masters of Science in Electrical Engineering (MSEE).
