CH2M HILL Piping/Millwright Construction Manager Careers - Oswego, NY

Our Piping/Millwright Construction Management jobs provide you with an opportunity to support design and construction of industrial facilities for advanced technology & manufacturing industries, focusing on the micro-electronics, manufacturing and metals processing. Each day you must be able to define & control scope and coordinate field construction activities. You should be a self-motivated professional with experience in network scheduling, reverse-phase planning, quality control, field methods and industry practices. Commissioning experience highly desirable. Projects are located throughout United States with potential international assignments, so must have the ability to travel. This is a senior level project position in which the ability to learn and adapt must be blended with extensive experience on large scale industrial projects.
Our Piping/Millwright Construction Managers:
- Coordinate and supervise the works of internal staff assigned and subcontractors at site for Piping and Equipment work
- Be responsible for safety aspects at site, implementing all the safety procedures and instructions issued
- Ensure the construction activities of craft or subcontractors are in accordance with contractual and quality assurance requirements for the work
- Coordinate the work of different subcontractors in terms of working areas and timing, promoting frequent coordination meeting with subcontractors
- Verify and approve the physical progress reports prepared by subcontractors
- Monitor together with project control discipline that the progress of subcontractors are per project schedule
- Ensure that subcontractors operate according to safety procedures. Issue instruction on field changes and estimate relevant impact on costs and schedule
Basic Qualifications
- 20+ years of construction management/project engineer experience 10+ years of experience on large scale industrial projects
- Proficient user of MS Office applications
- Strong skills in planning of mechanical construction work, including sequencing, productivity, and application of varied methods.
- Experience in direct coordination and supervision of craft workers
- Experience establishing and maintaining sophisticated project monitoring & earned value systems
Preferred Qualifications
- Start-up and Commissioning
- International experience
- Advanced writing ability, particularly the ability to draft proposals and presentations
- Experience supervising/managing the receiving, uncrating, logging/tracking, placement, assembling, and commissioning of manufacturing/product equipment consisting of multiple components.
