Assist the Chief Engineer in providing support and coordination of activities concerned with technical excellence, the technical execution of project work, risk management, general operation and maintenance of a specific engineering discipline. The focus is at the Regional level, while participating at the National Transportation Business Line level to support and/or lead initiatives. Provides technical leadership for the regional organization. Makes decisions and recommendations that are recognized as authoritative and have an important impact on extensive engineering activities. Initiates and maintains extensive contacts with key engineers and officials of other organizations and companies, requiring skill in persuasion and negotiation of critical issues. At this level, individuals will have demonstrated creativity, foresight, and mature engineering judgment in anticipating and solving unprecedented engineering problems, determining program objectives and requirements, organizing programs and projects and developing standards and guides for diverse engineering activities.
Generally has 20 years of experience and is a Registered Professional Engineer.
The position reports to the Chief Engineer, Americas Transportation Business Line and the South Region Transportation Manager. The selected candidate can be based in an AECOM office close to their current residence in the South Region including Texas, North Carolina, Florida, Georgia, and Alabama.
