Minimum Requirements: Master's degree in Civil/Transportation Engineering or Urban/Regional Planning from an ABET accredited school.
10 years of job-related experience, with a minimum of 5 years experience in transportation related projects for New York City agencies.
Experience in transportation industry with planning roles within pedestrian/traffic/transit projects.
Working knowledge and understanding of New York City planning/conceptual design for transportation related projects.
Experience in applying planning concepts/standards to transportation studies to identify and evaluate alternatives.
Able to conduct research and prepare statistical reports on transportation issues.
Able to work effectively in team situations and establish strong relationships with other teams where overlap of client project work exists.
Effective time-management, analytical, decision-making and organizational skills.
Articulate with a professional presence.
Strong computer skills (Microsoft Office Suite 2010, Access Database and GIS).
Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills.
Valid Driver's License.
Must obtain negative result on drug screen performed in accordance with URS drug testing policy. Job Description: This position will be a key member of the Transportation Planning Department in the New York City office, within our growing City/Transportation Planning group and will report directly to the Director of Transportation Planning.
Assist in the continued growth of the planning business.
Develop transportation planning analysis on small/medium study areas using Geographical Information Systems (GIS) and other tools.
Support planning analysis using transportation planning procedures.
Develop databases and perform analytical analysis of data sets.
Responsible for creative and innovative strategies to planning tasks, writing proposals, preparing scopes of work and fee estimates.
Make presentations to clients, conducting and managing technical work.
Develop reports and/or outputs for technical work and presenting the results to the client and/or public.
Supervise and mentor junior staff.
Interact with both clients and multi-discipline/multi-office teams within URS.
