Our Environmental Engineer jobs are your opportunity to help restore environmentally impaired sites for economic use. Each day, you will oversee site characterization / remediation projects, including hydrogeologic data collection and interpretation; remedial investigations; feasibility study analysis; and design, construction, and operation of soil and groundwater remediation systems. You should be a self-motivated, team-focused individual with a BS in Engineering (MS preferred) and successful 8-15 year track record in environmental consulting, including developing technical scopes of work, budgets, schedules, and work changes and have a desire to grow personally as well as professionally with each environmental engineer job.
Our Environmental Engineers :
- Manage tasks for medium to large projects and/or lead large, complex remediation projects
- Evaluate, select, and apply standard techniques and procedures for engineering analysis, such as calculating design dosages of chemicals for in situ remediation, excavation volumes or pore volumes of treatment zones
- Assess and evaluate potential technologies for soil and groundwater remediation, remediation system design, remediation system performance data analysis, system optimization and improvement, and prepare detailed cost estimates for remediation system construction and operation
- Support industrial clients to meet project goals and objectives
- Oversee and develop a project team to prepare technical reports for clients, state agencies, or other stakeholders and contribute to the technical content of the reports
- Interface with regulatory agencies on behalf of clients
- Prepare design drawings and specifications
- Prepare construction documents
- Prepare regulatory permit documents
- Conduct site testing, design/optimize systems, evaluate viable remedial alternatives, and support the preparation of detailed cost estimates
- Evaluate remediation system design during construction and startup and recommend modifications to improve system efficiency
- Oversee remediation subcontractors or staff who collect data from remediation systems
- Evaluate operational and chemical data to assess system performance and develop operation and maintenance manuals and procedures
- Identify equipment and sources of supplies for remediation
- Develop and maintain expertise in remediation technologies
- Oversee staff conducting field investigations (i.e., drilling, sampling and routine testing) and subcontractors
- Lead and support the implementation of health and safety plans
- Complete tasks within schedule and budget with teams comprised of different disciplines
- Prepare work plans, field instructions, specifications and scopes of work for soil and groundwater remediation activities such as soil vapor extraction and in situ groundwater treatment.
- Maintain license as a Professional Engineer (PE)
Position consists of approximately 30% field work/traveling (primarily in the Northern California area) and 70% office. CH2M HILL will not sponsor an employment visa (eg. H-1B visa, etc) to fill this position. Basic Qualifications
- BS in civil, environmental, chemical, geological engineering or related engineering field
- PE License
- 8 years environmental engineering experience
- Requires general knowledge of site remediation and federal and state regulations including CERCLA, RCRA, and CA RWQCB / DTSC
- Knowledge and experience with various media (soil, groundwater, and surface water) investigations, assessments and remediation technologies.
- Experience implementing groundwater and soil remediation technologies.
- HAZWOPER certification or ability to obtain
- Must be able to perform field work
