Minimum Requirements: • Bachelor's degree or Master's in accounting, business administration or a related field. • CPA with experience in public accounting or a publicly traded company.
Experience: • Minimum 12 years of professional accounting experience, PLUS 5 years of management experience. • Or demonstrated equivalent combination of education, skills, knowledge, abilities and experience.
Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities: Thoroughly familiar with general accounting principles, division policy, and governmental regulations, and generally have an area of expertise, such as securities and exchange requirements. Communicates effectively with subordinates and upper management and organizes and presents information effectively.
Valid Driver's License Job Description: PROJECT RESPONSIBILITIES o Review financial aspects of proposals and contracts to ensure they meet company guidelines and state and government compliance. Assist in the preparation of large complex proposals. o Responsible for timely and accurate billing of all contracts and the collection and follow up on payments. o Exercise financial control over changes in contracts and assure compliance with contractual Terms and Conditions and insurance issues. o Ensure that general project controls are done per Policy and Procedures (P&P). Review EACs to advise Project Managers and Management of actual or potential overruns and report reasons for occurrences so that timely corrective action may be taken. Additionally, to ensure that revenue is properly recognized in accordance with cost to cost basis and not over or under stated. o Work with Group Controller regarding customer audits, internal reviews and compliance audits, systems integration and operation. o Supervise the maintenance of proper accounting records and procedures for cost control of projects to adequately reflect and record the current status of cost versus estimates. Analyze variances for potential corrective action. o Ensure that projects have proper reserves if needed. o Review billed and unbilled receivables and report problems o Overseeing the review of documentation prior to project set up to ascertain required approvals are present prior to opening or modifying a project.
• FINANCIAL responsibilities o Provide Region, Office and Project Managers with timely and orderly financial information. o Assist Region and Office Managers in the development of profit plans, budgets and forecasts and provide ongoing analysis of the same. Suggest areas needing improvement, assist in implementation plans and reporting of the effects. o Review budgets, forecasts and monthly divisional operating reports, analyzing variances. o Assist in preparation of operational analysis, analyze overhead expenses and find and report explanations for variances, make recommendations for cost reductions. o Review and approve local tax returns, including personal property tax. o Review Capital Expenditures and Leases to determine if necessary, budgeted or reimbursable. o Assist General Accounting with account analysis.
• ADMINISTRATIVE RESPONSIBILITIES o Monitor operations to assure general compliance with P&Ps and minimize financial risk exposure to the Company. o Assist Administrative Managers in office operations, including financial analysis of leases, outsourcing contracts, insurance issues, etc. o Provide training and support to Project Managers on financial management and reporting systems. o Ensure integrity of internal accounting controls and procedures. o Review office and vehicle leases, follow up on approvals. o Support Region, Office Managers, Project Manager and Group Controller in any special projects EOE M/F/D/V
