Minimum Requirements: Basic Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering (or equivalent education) in an appropriate engineering discipline or the sciences from a four year accredited college or university; 10+ years of electrical/systems engineering experience including 3 years in a supervisory capacity; California Electrical Professional Engineer; Experience on Los Angeles Metropolitan Transit Authority (LAMTA) design-build transit projects; Experience on Underground, Elevated and street running at-grade transit projects; Experience with Los Angeles agencies, such as, City of Los Angeles, Los Angeles Department of Water and Power, Southern California Edison, etc.

Typical Responsibilities include:
Responsibility for management, coordination, and over-site of Systems Design, installation, integration, start-up, and testing; Experience in managing large-scale design-build transit projects including planning, design, design approvals, installation, testing, and commissioning; Candidate should have both design and installation experience for all major Systems components including train control, traction power, signaling and communications; Communications experience should include supervisory control and data acquisition (SCADA), radio, fire alarm and management systems, variable message signs, public address, gas detection, fiber optics, and fare collection; Ability to write and review Systems Specifications; Responsible for Fire, Life, Safety (FLS) issues and Safety Certifications as they pertain to Systems work; Ability and experience to develop, manage, and execute various Systems Plans and Procedures on design-build contracts such as: Systems Assurance Plan,Systems Integration Testing, and Acceptance Plan, Systems Safety Program Plan, Systems Operations Plan; Systems Hazard Analysis; Systems Safety Critical Items List, Systems Start-up Plan; Responsible for coordination of Systems design and construction with other design-build disciplines such as ventilation, mechanical, plumbing, and fire protection.
