ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

This position performs a variety of high level administrative tasks, which may include budget preparation, travel arrangements and meeting logistics, scheduling, reporting and tracking information for a vice president, regional director, or a role of similar scope and complexity.  S/he will serve as lead administrative support to the Executive Vice President and Managing Director of the North America Conservation Region; s/he may also provide support to high level directors and other senior managers.  Includes frequent interaction with all members within the organization; as well as customers, vendors and business relations.  Make interpretations and recommendations as appropriate.Ability to deal with ambiguity and to adapt to the demands of a fast paced executive calendar and workload.  Duties are highly confidential and require comprehensive knowledge of TNC’s policies, procedures and operations.  Responsibilities require discretion, judgment, tact and poise.  Incumbent has considerable latitude and flexibility in carrying out assigned tasks. This position will report to the North America Deputy Director, Program Management and Operations.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • Bachelor’s degree preferred, plus at least five years related work experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Flawless written and spoken English communication skills.
  • Excellent relationship management abilities; ability to consistently demonstrate poise and composure when interacting with board members, donors, partners, government officials and staff at all levels
  • Solid knowledge of MS Office.  May require database management with ability to produce reports and ability to use advanced functions, including sophisticated knowledge of the Internet.
  • Proven organizational and administrative skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to organize time, manage diverse activities and meet critical deadlines.
  • Ability to coordinate the schedule and contacts of senior leaders.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree plus at least 7 years related work experience or equivalent combination.
  • Experience with MS Office, including extensive use of the Internet, especially for research purposes.
  • Experience managing coordinating the schedule, travel and contact relationships of a senior leader(s).
  • Experience coordinating projects, setting realistic deadlines, managing a timeline and coordinating others.
  • Experience working with a wide range of people, including a board of directors, donors, volunteers, the public and/or all levels of staff.

ADDITIONAL JOB INFORMATION
WORKING CONDITIONS/PHYSICAL EFFORT:
  • May require occasional travel.
  • Work requires only minor physical exertion and/or strain. Work environment involves only infrequent exposure to disagreeable elements.
