CH2M HILL Roadway CAD Technician Careers - Chicago, Illinois The challenge? Helping our communities stay safely on the move. Our Roadway Engineering Technician career path is your chance to work on Transportation projects that focus on roadway and highway design. Each day you will work with a team of technicians, engineers, and planners to create drawings and documents using software tools and resources supporting our client's overall project goals. Qualified candidates will have 3-5 years experience using Microstation and be proficient at GeoPak. Prior experience preparing CADD plans for Illinois Department of Transportation or Illinois Tollway projects desired. One or more years of technical school or an Associate Degree in Computer Aided Design required. You should be a well-organized, detail oriented and self-motivated professional with a desire to grow personally as well as professionally with each engineering technician project. Our Engineering Technicians: Utilize CAD resources to deliver design drawings that meet and exceed our clients' expectations. Transfer information in sketched or written format to exhibits, preliminary roadway plans, and construction contract documents. Prepare exhibits for public and clients using 2d and 3d design data, aerial imagery, and design plans. Understand CADD file structure including relationship between referenced files. Work with engineers, architects, and project managers to prepare roadway and bridge plans and construction details. Basic Qualifications
