Minimum Requirements: Bachelor's degree in related field (engineering) or equivalent work experience. Professional Engineer registration. Experience - Minimum 10 years of relevant experience; or experience as an architectural or engineering manager at another firm(s). Client account management experience at the manager or executive level, or demonstrated equivalent combination of education, skills, knowledge, abilities and experience. Skills, Knowledge and Abilities - Good communications, interpersonal, organizational and analytical skills, customer service, presentation and negotiation skills. Position may require travel. A combination of the following: o Good technical knowledge within domain. o Good domain social networks and positive name recognition within domain. o Moderate/good access to client leadership, operations and strategic insights. o Very good knowledge of IE business (breadth and depth of understanding IE capabilities). o Some knowledge of Energy & Construction and Federal Services' businesses, as well as their service capabilities. o Focus on Safety
This position requires successful completion of the URS Project Management Certification program within 6 months of hire. Job Description: Client Management/Revenue Generation – U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) Market Management Operations. Sales and Growth Goal for USACE account. Looking to increase the breadth and depth of our footprint and relationships. Candidate must represent capabilities of office to pursue/win work. Coordinates across offices /operations, works collaboratively to strengthen market segment services and capabilities. Maintains good degree of market and technical knowledge. Complexity & Decision Making Authority - Has some authority over fiscal and business decisions and pursuit selection. Development & Leadership of Others - Uses influence and reputation to advocate/represent office capabilities internally. May manage a technical team. Primary focus is to identify work opportunities with the USACE, Los Angeles District. Coordination with other URS offices will be required primarily within the west. Office location is flexible between Los Angeles, Ontario, Santa Ana and Long Beach.
The ideal candidate will be a California registered Professional Engineer or Planner familiar with federal projects in the Southwest. Must be able to effectively communicate with multi-disciplinary group of Engineers, Planners and other technical professionals to develop and execute multi-million dollar projects in the LA District footprint. Client communication skills, business development, proposal support are critical to the success of this position. The successful candidate will be expected to identify and cultivate opportunities with the Corps and their customers. They must show an ability to team with other consultants and contractors and to lead successful proposal efforts. Work experience with the Army Corps of Engineers in the Civil Design, Hydrology and Hydraulics, and/or the Planning Division is important. Understanding of specific USACE contracting procedures for design and construction assignments is also important.
