CH2M HILL Project Civil/Environmental Engineer - Boston, Massachusetts

The challenge? Help provide and sustain clean water resources in communities across New England. As part of our Water team you will have the opportunity to work on exciting and innovative water projects, as well as help develop new wastewater, conveyance and water resource projects. Our projects cover a wide range of topics including, planning, modeling, investigation, and design projects. You will work in a multi-disciplinary design and consulting environment, reporting to a project manager on individual tasks, and mentoring junior staff.

The job duties and responsibilities will require independent and collaborative work. The ideal candidate should be a self-motivated professional with a civil engineering background who has in depth knowledge of engineering principles and technologies required to support condition assessments, planning, design, operations and maintenance of water and wastewater infrastructure. The ideal candidate should also be able to interact and facilitate meetings with clients specific to his or her work.

Our Project Engineers:

· Have a strong water and/or wastewater technical background, including extensive knowledge of all project phases (including studies, piloting, conceptual design, detailed design, construction administration, and startup).

· Have a strong technical background in work and information management specific to condition assessments and other field based investigations, including hands-on skills required to set up and manage databases.

· Assist senior engineers on larger, more complex projects.

· May lead individual project tasks and mentor junior staff.

· Contribute to client relationships and business development efforts.

· Communicate and work directly with clients.

· Focus on leading and executing engineering work, and have opportunities for task management experience.

You may work on projects such as:

· Drinking water distribution or wastewater conveyance evaluations including alternatives evaluations, optimization, cost analysis and preliminary/detailed design, permitting, construction engineering services, and/or facilities startup.

· Drinking water or wastewater facility evaluations including treatment process optimization, cost analysis and process pilot studies, preliminary/detailed design, permitting, construction engineering services, and/or facilities startup.

· Drinking water or wastewater facility preliminary/detailed design work including unit process design, sizing, equipment selection, detailed equipment layout, specifications, and cost estimating.

Additional Information: CH2M HILL will not sponsor an employment visa (e.g., H-1B visa, etc) to fill this position.

Basic Qualifications

Basic Qualifications:

B.S. in Civil or Environmental Engineering or related discipline required.
Five or more years experience in the engineering consulting field with planning, study, design and construction of drinking water or water resources related projects.
Proficient in creating and using maps and geographic data for project product development (e.g. models), data analysis and/or decision making, including knowledge of ArcGIS.
Proficient in creating, using and managing databases for data organization, processing and analysis, including knowledge of Microsoft Access.

Preferred Qualifications

Preferred Qualifications:

M.S. in Civil or Environmental Engineering or related discipline.
Experience managing data using Microsoft SQLServer software.
PE in the state of Massachusetts or ability to gain reciprocity.
