ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
The Philanthropy Coordinator will provide administrative support for the Associate Director of Donor Stewardship, Trustee Program Manager, and Institutional Giving Program Manager.  Responsibilities include database entry; scheduling and managing logistics of team meetings; assisting with prospect research; assisting with the administration of grant proposals and reports; updating department and board reference materials; assisting with coordination of board book production; drafting or proofreading correspondence and other written materials; organizing and maintaining donor files; assisting in producing special events and board meetings; and additional administrative tasks as assigned.  This position requires frequent interaction with staff throughout the organization and outside vendors.  The ideal candidate will have strong writing and proofreading skills, and demonstrate an ability to coordinate multiple projects with many variables and set realistic deadlines.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
  • Bachelor’s degree and 2 years related experience or equivalent combination.
  • Experience with databases, and with MS Office, Word, and Excel.
  • Experience, coursework, or other training in fundraising principles & practices.
  • Experience coordinating projects.
  • Experience in business writing.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • Bachelor’s degree or 2 years related experience or equivalent combination.  Or:  High school diploma plus 3-5 or more years related experience or equivalent combination.
  • Willingness & ability to develop and apply computer & research skills on an ongoing basis.  Demonstrated experience in MS Office, Word, and Excel.  Ability to become knowledgeable in using Conservancy databases to construct and produce reports, track major gift prospects and other information.
  • Ability to navigate the Internet.
  • Basic understanding of fundraising principles & practices in a non-profit environment preferred.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail required.
