Minimum Requirements: Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or equivalent and minimum of seven (7) years recent system safety engineering experience. Candidates must have experience in the principles, criteria, and procedures of DoDD 5000.1 and DoDI 5000.2R as well as the policies and processes of HQ AFMC and ASC Engineering Directorates to all ASC acquisition engineering tasks. Candidates must have knowledge across a broad spectrum of functional disciplines including Risk Management, Airworthiness, and OSS&E policies and directives. Candidates must have knowledge of military hardware and software development including avionics, weapons, flight systems, propulsion, and air vehicle systems and its impact on weapons systems integration.
Candidates must have experience with evaluation of contractor proposals of Risk Assessment and Airworthiness-related material and experience in interpreting operational requirements, determining subsystem interfaces, analyzing risks, and design trade-offs within limitations imposed by cost, performance, production schedules, and supporting requirements.
Excellent communications and analytical skills; working knowledge of computer systems and integrated software application programs; mastery of Department of Defense and Air Force acquisition policies, procedures and tools.

We are currently seeking a Systems Safety Engineer to support our office in Beavercreek, Ohio.
Responsibilities:
Review specifications, including system, system segment, and equipment specifications, and Interface Control Documents (ICDs) submitted by the weapon system Contractor or other DoD agencies involved in the program. Assist in reviewing the overall system design baseline (architecture and interoperability requirements). Review and analyze technical proposals or modifications for design feasibility and system compatibility. Support and conduct engineering performance, effectiveness, cost effectiveness, cost performance, life-cycle cost, product-ability, maintainability, supportability, reliability, technical and schedule risk assessment, and scheduling trade-off studies. Effectively communicate recommendations orally and in writing to higher organizational management. Advise and provide technical recommendations on technical issues across the program as required in areas including Operational Safety, Suitability, and Effectiveness (OSS&E), Risk Management, Airworthiness, and other focus areas as directed. Interface as required with Air Force personnel, associate Contractors, and other Air Force / Government agencies, participate in reviews and other meetings as required by the Government, and prepare presentation material.
