Minimum Requirements: • Bachelor's degree in environmental, civil, chemical or related engineering field. • Minimum two years of related experience. • Capable of functioning with spreadsheet, word processing and standard office software. • Basic knowledge of industry standard computer software including: Rockware, gINT, CADD, HCS, AutoCAD, and Microstation. • The ability to perform bending, kneeling, standing, confined-space entry,lifting and carrying objects weighing up to 30 lbs. • The ability to climb ladders, work at heights, and have a tolerance for working in outdoor environments, including prolonged walking or standing on various terrain in a wide range of weather conditions. • Hazwoper OSHA 40 hr certification. • Requires enrollment in the medical monitoring program requiring initial and annual physicals, and initial and random drug screens. • Valid driver's license. Job Description: Under the direction of a professional or experienced engineer,candidate will perform environmental engineering duties and field inspections in relation to the prevention, control and remediation of environmental health hazards associated with waste treatment facilities, site remediation or pollution control technology.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: • Perform field soil and groundwater sampling and monitoring as part of environmental field investigation and remediation programs. • Conduct research and perform analyses to determine the source and methods of controlling pollutants in air, water and soil. • Prepare, review and update environmental investigation and recommendation reports. • Perform design of remediation systems, prepare plans and specifications, cost estimates and regulatory permits. • Develop familiarity with local and national regulations governing the implementation and operation of environmental remediation systems, including knowledge of applicable health and safety requirements. • Manage small segments of large projects or act as leader of a project task.
