Job Description: 
Minimum Requirements:

Bachelor's degree in a relevant field, or demonstrated equivalent combination of education, skills and experience.

Minimum of six years of relevant experience, all of which must be work experience as person responsible in charge on an environmental remediation project involving civil, mechanical and electrical components.

Excellent written and oral communication skills and the ability to communicate technical information to internal and external clients. Strong supervisory and management skills for effective interaction with contractor, client and Engineer of Record (EOR) staff.

Significant familiarity with project control software tools, such as Prolog, Primavera Contract Manager, or CW. Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel.


Job Description:

URS Corporation has an opportunity for a Senior Resident Engineer for a series of environmental remediation projects out of the Chicago office.

Work to be inspected includes: slurry wall construction, extraction wells, installation and wiring of pumps, pipeline construction, and other related work.

Responsibilities will include:

Schedule and chair weekly construction progress and coordination meetings.

Prepare agendas and minutes for distribution to all stakeholders.

Establish and maintain a complete project documentation system.

Inspect materials delivered to site for compliance with specifications and approved submittals.

Evaluate and recommend changes or approvals regarding contractor's schedule of values, construction schedule, and pay applications.

Draft project correspondence to contractor and governmental agencies. Draft field memos, bulletins, and change orders.

Prepare and distribute weekly progress, special, and monthly summary reports.

Serve as the interface between the contractor, engineer of record, and client.

Review contractor RFI's for legitimacy before forwarding to EOR.

Evaluate change order requests, and assemble necessary documentation relative to change order requests.

Participate in all necessary closeout inspections.
