CH2M HILL Civil/Mechanical Construction Manager Jobs – Baton Rouge, LA

The challenge? Help provide and sustain clean water resources around the world. Our Civil/Mechanical Construction Manager jobs provide you with an opportunity to utilize your construction management expertise in both civil and mechanical engineering on a major wastewater treatment plant upgrade. You will ensure that projects meet objectives by carefully planning, staffing, and scheduling, as well as performing budget management, quality control and safety protocols. You should be a self-motivated professional with a BS in Engineering or Construction Management with a proven successful 10 year track record as a Civil/Mechanical Construction Manager along with a desire to grow both personally as well as professionally with each construction management job opportunity.

Our Civil/Mechanical Construction Managers :

Provide overall civil and mechanical construction expertise for projects.
Direct field staff that may include inspectors, assistant resident engineers, construction materials testers, and administrative personnel.
Provide Resident Engineering services for mechanical construction issues.
Conduct civil and mechanical site meetings, deal with Contractor(s) work progress, and construction coordination.
Assist construction team through the duration of construction, testing, and commissioning of the project.
Assist in project decisions regarding technical approaches, cost, scheduling , and performance.
Represent the owner to ensure all construction-related activities performed by the contractor are performed in accordance with design, budget and schedule, meets accounting requirements, and is completed to quality standards.
Act as primary client contact for project-field mechanical systems activities.
Ensure civil and mechanical construction is in compliance with design specifications.
Maintain official project documentation files.
Assist with implementation/interpretation of safety programs.
Have knowledge of scheduling software and scheduling protocols.
Responsible for delivering a successful project to the client.
Provide issue resolution arising from the inspection process or from contract administration.
Assist in processing civil and mechanical requests for information on behalf of the Owner.

***Please note that this position is a “Project Hire" expected to last approximately 3 Years***

Basic Qualifications

BS in Civil or Mechanical Engineering or Construction Management
Minimum of 10 years of experience in Industrial mechanical construction – machinery, large pumps, HVAC, gantry cranes, etc. (in lieu of a bachelors' degree 20 years experience required)
Experience with major civil construction – foundation excavation, piles, concrete, structural steel, etc.
Previous supervisory experience with both direct staff and contractors
Previous construction experience on large water/wastewater treatment facilities
Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite with special emphasis on Word, Excel and Outlook
Knowledge of rigging and lifting
Previous experience with commissioning of mechanical systems
