POSITION SUMMARY
The Diversity Field Recruiter develops strategic business partnerships with TNC managers at the Regional, Functional, Departmental and/or Operating Unit level and implements HR strategies to help ensure effective recruitment of staff in support of organizational objectives, with a focus on increasing the diversity of the Conservancy’s workforce.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
The Diversity Field Recruiter will work to increase the diversity of applicants for TNC vacancies as well as working to ensure an increase in the diversity of candidates interviewed and selected for open positions. Essential functions include job advertising, candidate and referral sourcing and cold calling, interviewing internal and external applicants who meet staffing requirements, applicant tracking, and compensation analysis for hiring managers, conducting initial interview screens and reference checking. The Diversity Field Recruiter will be a member of the recruiting and diversity team and will work collaboratively to develop strategies and networks in order to increase TNC’s overall diversity. The Diversity Field Recruiter will work with others to train and coach hiring managers and key operations staff on sourcing techniques, behavioral-based interviewing and the legal requirements of recruiting and hiring. A special focus will be made to source and recruit for jobs identified as underrepresented with diversity in the Conservancy’s affirmative action plans. The position partners with senior HR leaders and field personnel on hiring strategy and techniques, will be involved with some retention efforts, and will assist with other staffing strategies as assigned.  S/he may supervise other recruiting staff.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
  • Bachelor’s degree and a minimum of 3 years Human Resources work experience in recruiting or equivalent combination.
  • Experience coordinating and leading projects.
  • Experience responding to HR related questions, problems and data information requests from employees/management.
  • Experience in the following areas: full life cycle recruiting; constructing and producing reports; data input, manipulation and analysis.
  • Experience working with MS Office software, including Word, Excel, Access and PowerPoint.
  • Experience working with integrated Human Resources Management Systems or Applicant Tracking Systems (i.e. PeopleSoft or similar).

ADDITIONAL JOB INFORMATION
RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Conduct recruitments for targeted vacancies across the globe, including cutting-edge sourcing strategies and techniques, ad placement, identification/screening/interviewing/reference checking/rejecting-hiring follow-up of candidates.  Develop competency-based behavioral screening and interview questions, assist hiring managers in offering appropriate compensation packages and provide strategies for ensuring a diverse applicant pool.  Consult and/or lead recruitments in other assigned difficult-to-fill searches as necessary.
  • Assist with Diversity and Inclusion Projects as it relates to recruitment.
  • Training/Coaching/Mentoring:  Assist HR Field Services in building the interviewing skills and sourcing techniques of hiring managers and field operations staff via training, Web casts and 1:1 mentoring.  
  • Maintain organized electronic tracking method regarding qualified applicants considered for alternate future positions.
  • Provide analysis and recommendations for the most effective recruitment tactics regarding hard-to-fill  positions.  Track and report quarterly metrics.

KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS:
  • Bachelor’s degree and a minimum of 3-5 years of recruiting and selection experience, including international recruitments. Solid understanding of U.S. employment laws governing recruiting and hiring.
  • Experienced in full life-cycle recruiting and cost-effective sourcing techniques, including ability to use and instruct others in competency modeling and behavioral interviewing techniques.  Proficiency with various Internet search techniques, familiarity working with outside recruitment vendors and applicant tracking systems.
  • Experienced in diversity sourcing and recruiting. Coaching hiring managers on AA reports and diversity sourcing/recruitment needs.
  • Proficient in word processing, PeopleSoft or similar recruiting software, with ability to construct and produce reports, data input, manipulation and analysis. PHR, AIRS and Interview Architect certifications preferred.
  • Strong client service orientation and ability to produce results in a high performing environment.
  • Demonstrated strong interpersonal, relationship building/influencing skills that enable buy-in at all levels.  Creative, positive, proactive and able to sell the organization to candidates, as well as initiate innovative solutions and strategies.  Skilled in coaching, facilitation, presentation and communication (verbal and written).  Collaborative, teamwork-oriented and interactive.
  • Organizational skills with ability to prioritize and maintain flexibility while multi-tasking. 
  • Proven success as a supervisor, trainer and coach.

  • Ability to work effectively with and through others in a geographically dispersed, multicultural organization.

  WORKING CONDITIONS/PHYSICAL EFFORT:
  • Work requires only minor physical exertion and/or physical strain.  Work Environment involves only infrequent exposure to job hazards where there is some possibility of injury.
  • Willingness and ability to travel 20-25%.
