TNC ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS The Maryland/DC Chapter’s Community Engagement Manager is responsible for the development,implementation and evaluation of a strategic community relations program aimed at:
Position helps to raise the organization’s profile through select and strategic venues and partnerships, serves as “brand ambassador” for the Conservancy’s mission, and inspires people to want to learn more and engage with the organization in meaningful ways. Position works closely with marketing and conservation staff and Chapter leadership to develop a strategic community relations program that, over time, will build a broader constituency in the Washington, DC market in support of conservation. Includes identifying and prioritizing new opportunities, effectively engaging our target audiences, and creating and evaluating new programs and partnerships aimed at these groups. The Community Engagement Manager reports to the Director of Marketing for Maryland/DC and Virginia and will work closely with the state director and Chapter staff in the development of a strategic community relations program. This position does not directly manage any staff, but may manage program budgets and relationships with partners, donors and volunteers. The Community Engagement Manager ensures consistent delivery of programs in keeping with the vision and goals of The Nature Conservancy by aligning volunteer interests with the Chapter’s goals.
