Roadway CAD Technician Careers - Chicago, Illinois

Our Roadway Engineering Technician career path is your chance to work on Transportation projects that focus on roadway and highway design. Each day you will work with a team of technicians, engineers, and planners to create drawings and documents using software tools and resources supporting our client's overall project goals.
Qualified candidates will have a 5+ years experience using Microstation and be skilled at preparing cross sections using GeoPak. Should have experience preparing roadway and/or bridge design plans and construction details for Illinois Department of Transportation and/or Illinois Tollway. One or more years of technical school or an Associate Degree in Computer Aided Design required. You should be a well-organized, detail oriented and self-motivated professional with a desire to grow personally as well as professionally with each engineering technician project.
Our Engineering Technicians:
- Work with engineers, architects, and project managers to prepare primarily roadway and bridge plans and construction details.
- Utilize CAD resources to deliver design drawings that meet and exceed our clients' expectations.
- Transfer information in sketched or written format to exhibits, preliminary roadway plans, and construction contract documents.
- Prepare exhibits for public and clients using 2d and 3d design data, aerial imagery, and design plans.
- Understand CADD file structure including relationship between referenced files.
Basic Qualifications
- 5+ years experience using Microstation.
- Skilled at preparing cross sections using GeoPak.
- Eperience preparing roadway and/or bridge design plans and construction details for Illinois Department of Transportation and/or Illinois Tollway.
- One or more years of technical school or an Associate Degree in Computer Aided Design required.
