• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, or Chemical Engineering.
• 20 + years managing project including engineering, procurement and/or construction in the Oil, Gas, and Chemicals contracting industry.
• Candidate will have PE License by exam.
• Has a record of proven performance as a Project Director on medium risk medium to high complexity project(s). Capable of performing as the project manager on a high-risk high-complexity project. Experience in managing programs consisting of multiple small (Under $10M TIC) to medium (Under $100M TIC) sized projects.
• Level Capability Differentiators (typical): Revenue: Capable of successfully performing on a $500 million project/contract. Risk: High Strategic Value: High Level Specific Responsibilities: Leadership
Preferred Requirements:
• PE License in Alaska is a preference.

URS Corporation is seeking a Senior Project Director to be based in our Houston, TX location.
Typical Responsibilities:
• Typical Leads and motivates desired behaviors (e.g., coaching the project team and mentoring one or more individuals).
Capable of managing other Project Managers.
Leads by example with integrity and candor.
Leads proposal efforts for large and complex domestic and/or international projects.
Able to lead multi-Group and/or joint venture teams on “impact” projects.

Consistently demonstrates the ability to proactively identify potential project/program problems or opportunities, analyze the issues using all appropriate resources, develop alternatives, and arrive at the most optimum approach to mitigate problems or exploit opportunities.

• Execution Planning
Capable of developing and taking responsibility for the Project Execution Plan development for all projects ranging from small to complex mega projects.

• Client Relationship
Can facilitate development of client relationship through the use of candor and objectivity while being sensitive to clients unique internal and external drives..
• Negotiation: Will carry on negotiations with client and third parties while maintaining focus on the contractual requirement and companies strategic objectives. Will at times participates with BD and OPS management in assessment, strategic development, and negotiations with customers.
• May serve as the Proposal Manager of major, multi-faceted projects.
• Presentation Skills: . Executive or full MBA is preferred.
• Leads formal presentations to clients and/or management with support of others.
