Position Overview:

Performs all functions related to breaking down deliveries and moving back stock to floor, merchandising and stocking shelves. Purchases dairy and perishable products and participates in regional program for purchasing and promotions. Assists Team Leader in organizing and developing promotional displays; maintains back room, training of entry-level grocery clerks. Controls inventory, quality, and labor. Offers excellent customer service at all times.



Responsibilities & Qualifications:

Will Do:
1. Orders all dairy and perishable grocery products.
2. Responsible for achieving and exceeding margin and sales targets.
3. Request and ensure proper signs for all sale items.
4. Participates in regional promotional program.
5. Process invoices and credits.
6. Controls spoilage; achieves turns goals: and participates in monthly inventory.
7. Must strive to receive TCS scores of 9 or better.
8. Work to achieve all Grocery Team Leader and Store Team Leader goals (especially in dairy and perishable Grocery products)
9. Comply with all applicable State of California Health and Safety Codes.
10. Provide excellent customer service.
11. Perform other duties, as assigned by Team Leader

Must Have/Be:
• Minimum 1 year retail grocery experience, or equivalent
• Excellent customer service skills and aptitude
• Excellent interpersonal and organizational skills
• Working knowledge of Whole Foods buying/pricing system
• Positive - "can do" attitude combined with strong work ethic
• Organization, communication, and interpersonal skills
• Schedule flexibility
• Attention to detail
• Proficient in math skills (addition, substation, multiplication and division). Excel proficiency a plus
• Ability to perform physical requirements of position.
• Proper use of baler, and pallet jack (must be 18 years of age or older).
• Ability to work well with others.
