Minimum Requirements:

Graduation from a 4-year college with a degree in engineering, construction management, accounting, finance or related fields. Hands on professional experience may be substituted for college education.

Min. of 5 years of experience as a project manager and/or owner’s rep, working on public agencies capital improvement programs/projects in the State of California. Proven record of having managed multiple modernization, expansion, and/or new construction projects interacting with design professionals, contractors, consultants and public agency officials. Experience in bidding, scheduling, cost negotiations, and change order processing of relevant construction projects.

Must obtain negative result on drug screen performed in accordance with URS drug testing policy. Must have a valid Driver's License.

This position requires successful completion of the URS Project Management Certification program within 6 months of hire. This certification program is a series of learning modules and is available on-line through the URS Learning Management System at no financial cost to the employee.


Job Description:

Function as Owner’s Representative for a major K-12 public education system in the Inland Empire. Manage several mid-to-large size capital improvement modernization, expansion and new construction projects from the bidding phase through completion. Manage general contractors’ performance and/or construction managers on the projects. Interact with architects, engineers, inspectors and all other consultants involved in the construction projects. Interact with school sites principals and staff frequently and as needed. Develop and manage project budgets. Review, approve or recommend for approval all items related to the requirements of the projects from schedules, progress reports, request for information, change order request. Perform all other tasks required of the proper management of public school projects.
