Minimum Requirements:

• MS in Civil Engineering with emphasis on hydraulics/hydrology.
• Registered Professional Civil Engineer in the State of California.
• 5 years of engineering work experience in hydraulics and hydrologic analysis and design.
• Candidate must have strong technical skills and history of successful projects.
• Strong written and verbal communication, organizational and interpersonal skills.
• Candidate must be able to work independently and with others and manage multiple projects.
• Successful candidates must also have experience in effectively integrating hydraulic/hydrologic models with Geographic Information Systems (GIS) databases. Successful candidate will be actively involved with development and mentoring of junior level technical staff. He/she must comply with URS' Corporate Health and Safety program and actively promote a strong safety culture.


Job Description:

URS Ontario office is looking for a qualified candidate to join our Los Angeles Basin Water & Wastewater Group as a Project Engineer for planning and design of water, wastewater and water resources systems to address the needs of a growing water and wastewater infrastructure practice. Selected candidate will play a key role in a variety of hydraulics and hydrology analysis and design projects using a variety of sophisticated computer models including but not limited to InfoWater, InfoWorks, MikeURBAN, SWMM, WaterCAD, HAMMER, WaterGEMS, InfoSurge, Surge2008, Computational Fluid Dynamics ,HEC products, (CFD) etc. As a project engineer, the candidate will assist in project execution, project cost estimates and schedules, project work plans, keeping projects on schedule and within budget, coordinating / scheduling project staff, and coordinating / participating in the preparation of technical reports documenting project activities, findings, and recommendations. The successful candidate must have a good understanding and hands-on experience of some of the commercially available hydraulics and hydrologic modeling software packages (e.g., InfoWater), and must have applied them on a few projects from a practical standpoint. The candidate must also have a sound theoretical understanding regarding how the models work in order to interpret the model results.
