Davis Langdon, An AECOM Company, is seeking an entry level Cost Engineer/Quantity Surveyor to provide cost consulting services. This full-time position will be based in San Francisco, California. This is an opportunity to apply your background and experience to cost consulting, influencing every step of the construction decision-making process. The role will include the following as responsibilities:
- Perform quantity takeoffs
- Research construction materials and pricing of
- Prepare cost reports
- Participate in value engineering efforts
- Evaluate and reconcile bids/estimates
- Analyze and negotiate change orders and claims
- May coordinate the project related work of co-workers
- Participate in continuous professional development programs
- Travel as required
- Other duties as assigned
The ideal candidate will have a bachelors or higher degree in civil engineering, quantity surveying, construction management/engineering or architecture, with the following:
- Internship or work experience in estimating, project engineering or project management on large scale building projects (+5M).
- Ability to read construction drawings and documents
- Intermediate to advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel and Word
- Intermediate to advanced knowledge of Microsoft Project and/or Primavera P3 highly desirable
- Excellent organization and communications skills
- Attention to detail and quality
- Ability to collaborate and work well independently and in a team
- Experience preparing budgets, cash flow analyses and other financial reports
- Ability to think strategically, plan and problem solve
- Ability to write reports, papers, detailed letters and emails
