Minimum Requirements:

B.S., Civil Engineering, Planning or equivalent. Minimum 7 years directly-related experience in a consulting firm, California Professional Registration is required.

Must have thorough knowledge of Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) Advisory Circulars, Orders and Handbooks; State design and construction permitting requirements, environmental requirements and law (where required); and FAA Funding Grant Procedures.

Requires at least 10 years of management experience with departments larger than 10 people. Requires Project Management, including leadership development, decision-making and mentoring skills. Business Development/Marketing/Sales is a must.

Requires working knowledge of Word (word processing); Excel (spreadsheets); and Powerpoint (presentations).


Job Description:

Position reports directly to the Office Manager and is responsible for the overall Financial Performance, Operational Management, Quality and Business Development of the Aviation Department. Position is a key part of the Southern California Senior Management Team that sets course and direction for the region. Responsible for developing and monitoring Aviation Business Development activities; and overall backlog and staffing for Air Planning, Environmental, Civil, Construction and Architecture.

Business Development responsibilities include:
• Work with Marketing, Business Development, and Operations managers to identify and track opportunities to expand and diversify I&E's services to clients. Set up meetings and/or participate in the development of proposals as requested.
• Identify and solicit potential clients/projects and keep RBU Sector Leaders, Operations, and Business Lines up to date on new sales, new opportunities, and account issues/news.
• Maintain contact with peers in other offices and partner firms to identify future work and win business.
• Meet regularly with clients and vendors to discuss current projects, correlate all pertinent information, resolve conflicts, evaluate firm performance, and identify other business opportunities either with current clients or through referrals.
• Prepare proposals or manage proposal preparation for opportunities with clients.
• Develop an Account Strategy specific to each client that includes growth targets and resource and work with Operations and Business Lines to make sure client expectations are met.
