Minimum Requirements:

Vocational/technical training beyond high school and at least 5 years of job-related experience. Excellent communications and analytical skills; working knowledge of computer systems and integrated software application programs. Some positions may require the ability to investigate, troubleshoot, and design solutions to problems in operational hardware and software.

Candidate Must Have Navy Marine Electrical Experience
Preferred Candidate will have:
1. Navy Marine Propulsion or Auxiliary Equipment
2. Experience working at a Navy Regional Maintenance Center.


Preferred Candidate Will Have a Combination of the Following:
1. Switchboard experience taking infrared readings, conducting minor repairs, replacing terminal wires and breakers.
2. Experience with MCA (motor circuit analysis ) reading phase angles, resistance, insulation and impedance readings on motor leads.
3. Familiarity with clamp on readings and all associated safety requirements
4. Ability to trouble shoot and tech assist on lube oil purifiers/pumps/heaters, remote operating valves, oil water separators, distilling plants, and pollution abatement systems
5. Ability to read electrical schematics.
6. Ability to troubleshoot and repair controllers, motors and various shipboard auxiliary equipment.

Position requires approximately 25-30% travel. Position requires the ability to pass and maintain a Security Clearance.

URS is actively seeking a Marine Electrical Technician to provide support to engineering and design staff in a variety of engineering tasks in the installation, maintenance, repair, troubleshooting, calibration, testing, fabrication, construction and operation of diverse electrical/mechanical equipment and systems in accordance with engineering specifications.

Essential Responsibilities:

1. Install, monitor, and service equipment and systems at company and client sites.
2. Perform test and evaluation, check-out, certification tasks. Perform validations/ verifications of various electronic systems.
3. Review Engineering Change Proposals for equipment impacts.
4. Assist in accomplishing Engineering Change Instructions.
5. Develop technical/engineering data for Planned Maintenance Systems, technical manuals, trouble-shooting procedures, drawing updates, operating procedures, maintainability improvements, and test reports.
6. Support systems engineering activities with subject matter expertise.
7. Assist in training others in the operation and performance of systems.
8. Plan and coordinate work of other engineering technicians and related positions.
9. Establish and maintain a filing system, databases and logs as needed for tracking project status and inventory.
10. Direct on-site customer interface for equipment/system installation, testing, survey, fabrication, and other engineering tasks as needed.
11. Comply with engineering documentation standards, engineering plans, system specifications and test procedures.
12. Provide technical data and evaluation for components, equipment and systems consistent with engineering plans, layout and contract requirements.
13. May support engineers in the development of technical proposal and provide comments on the technical content and level of effort of the proposed scope of work.
