REGIONAL MANAGER- WEST REQ ID 12143 Job Summary The Green Squad Regional Manager provides a comprehensive range of innovative and cost-effective sustainability solutions to their assigned client base within an assigned geographic area or line of business. The Regional Manager is responsible for managing all aspects of business including budgeting; day-to-day operations; environmental/sustainable performance of Green Squad and assigned customer sites; environmental, health and safety oversight; service execution; oversight and direct management of personnel; third party solutions sourcing; pricing and business development. The Regional Manager's primary objectives are to manage and coordinate employee work products and development activities in a safe and environmentally sound manner. Regional Manager promotes employee and customer engagement; develops client reports, proposals and presentations; implements awarded projects; accurately analyzes and reports financials; monitors contract compliance; monitors invoice payments and ensures acceptable customer satisfaction ratings. This job requires travel of up to 75% Essential Duties and Responsibilities · Establish and maintain a safety-conscious work environment, which complies with all WM, Green Squad and customer/site regulatory requirements related to health, safety and the environment · Successfully manage and resolve customer service issues · Assist in identifying potential contract/service enhancements through regular engagement with customers, operating team and alliance vendors. Prepare related proposals and economic business justifications as required. · Prepare proposals, presentations and economic business justification studies related to the purchase of capital assets, which extend the sustainability solutions and service options to both WM and Green Squad customers. · Manage budget to meet budgetary and operational goals including labor cost and burden recovery, value add tracking, profit/loss, receivables, pricing excellence, invoicing, budgeting and related accounting activities for customers and all related reporting. · Analyze current and projected financial position of designated geographic area or assigned line of business. · Manage Eco-Consultants' on-the-job training (including policies, procedures and programs), mentoring and the career development of assigned Eco-Consultants. · Document best practices, lessons learned, and designated Key Performance Indicators (KPI's). · Maintain current opportunity and performance data in designated databases (i.e.: CRM, SharePoint). · Manage the programs, and internal and external resources, who work to provide sustainability solutions to customers through the evaluation of energy, waste and water consumption. · Establish relationships and oversee Eco-Consultants working closely with local WM Market Areas and Districts (hauling divisions, landfills), Strategic Account Managers (SAM's), and Segment Director's to ensure that core services are properly managed, opportunities are grown, and excellent customer service is consistently administered. · May be required to perform sustainability opportunity assessments for both internal and external customer's and generate reports indicating observations, consumption, residuals discard, diversion baselines, and suggested solutions for potential process improvements (e.g., waste, energy, and water). · Other minor duties may be assigned as warranted. Supervisory Responsibilities The highest level of supervisory skills required in this job is the management of managerial employees. This includes: Direct supervision of approximately 1 to 12 full-time project management level employees, and Indirect supervision of approximately 1 to 10 subcontracted labor. Education and Experience: Required: Bachelor's Degree in Environmental Sciences, Accounting, Sustainability or Business and seven or more years experience with responsibility in project management and business management. Five years of experience in a supervisory level position. Environmental or consulting services industry experience is required. Master's in Business Administration (or Master's in industry related field) may substitute for 2 years of experience at the discretion of the hiring manager. Preferred: Master's in Business Administration or advanced degree in related field (Accounting, Environmental Sciences). Certificates, Licenses, Registrations or Other Requirements LEED AP is preferred. Certified Energy Manager (CEM) is preferred Lean Six Sigma Green Belt (LSSGB) is preferred Other Knowledge, Skills or Abilities Required This job requires travel of up to 75% An entrepreneurial skill set is highly valued with the ability to creatively achieve stretch goals and provide innovative solutions, new services and value to existing customers.
