Minimum Requirements: BA/BS in Engineering or Construction Management.
Minimum 15 years of engineering, operations and construction experience in the oil and gas pipeline or power industry, specifically as it pertains to engineering and design.
Minimum five years of project management experience or an Operations Manager for an EPC firm.
Experience must include capital and expense projects with a Total Installed Cost of $10 million or more.
Proven leadership ability, communication skills, interpersonal skills and sound judgment.
Must be able to recruit and develop strong project management and engineering design teams.
Must be able to develop strong relationships and accounts with clients and internal engineering teams.
Must be proficient in standard office computer applications and software, to include Microsoft Office Suite.
Travel within US is required, 0-25% estimated.
Valid driver's license is required.
Additional Experience: Project experience especially as it pertains to setting up systems to manage small and mid-range project portfolios including the implementation of project processes and recruiting engineering personnel. Job Description: The Process Engineering Operations of URS' IE Division is actively seeking a creative, highly talented Oil & Gas/Pipeline/Power Business Lead for immediate employment to be headquartered in the Chicago office providing services across the West Group which includes all states west of the Mississippi River and Western Canada. Initial project will start in the Chicago office. The appropriately qualified applicant will be able to demonstrate an established capability in the design and set up of engineering practice teams specific to the Oil &Gas/Pipeline/Power Sectors and implementing URS and Client specific project processes.
This position includes a regional leadership role in business development and a range of engineering/project management and technical responsibilities, including the following:
Evaluation and development of a strategy for URS to grow Oil/Gas and pipeline business in Chicago, including client opportunity development.
Recruitment and set up of multi-discipline engineering practice teams and project managers.
Responsible for Oil & Gas, Pipeline and Power client opportunity development and execution in Upper Midwest and the surrounding geography.
Implementation of URS and Client specific project processes.
Integration of newly acquired engineering personnel into URS.
Lead business development and client service relationships with URS' existing regional and national Oil & Gas, Pipeline and Power customers. Coordinate business development efforts with operations management.
Lead and assist with proposal efforts for major project opportunities in conjunction with regional and national Oil & Gas, Pipeline and Power teams.
Develop and maintain relationships within URS' national Oil & Gas, Pipeline and Power teams to ensure a seamless service delivery team for our clients and to diversify URS service offerings.
Perform as Project Manager or Engineering Manager on a variety of Oil & Gas, Pipeline and Power projects. EOE M/F/D/V
