Reporting to the Vice President, Travel, Real Estate and Procurement (TREP), the Director, Global Procurement will oversee global spend of over $ 300 MM providing leadership, direction and expertise to Corporate Procurement team. He or she will develop procurement and transactional purchasing policies and procedures on a global scale affecting all 50,000 AECOM employees across multiple Geographies and Business Lines. This position requires proven track record of setting strategies, ability to translate objectives into feasible action plans and successful project execution. The Director will be accountable for leading and implementing project initiatives, the success of which depends on mobilizing both internal customers and outside vendors to meet Procurement objectives. Working with VP, TREP, the Director will develop and implement global Procurement KPIs and incorporate and standardize best practices across the company.
Responsibilities
- Oversees all Procurement activities related to developing companywide policies and procedures
- Works closely with the VP, TREP to strategically address company needs and leverage company size when negotiating global and regional contracts
- Analyzes savings opportunities and finds and delivers opportunistic solutions
- Proactively manages upcoming procurement actions such as project timelines, contract renewals and negotiations
- Communicates initiatives, project goals and action items clearly to Senior Management, Procurement team, Project Team and the local management staff
- Sets priorities and ensures all team members are on track with timelines
- Oversees vendor and contract evaluation and selection, manages vendor relations, negotiations and administration of new and existing agreements
- Reviews and approves RFPs and obtains all necessary execution signatures
- Works with inside/outside legal counsel on contract negotiations
- Proactively seeks and delivers improved processes and tools which enhance productivity, lower costs, improve efficiency and better support the customer
- Works effectively on multiple projects in parallel
- Keeps organized and focused, attends to details and manages through execution.
- Builds strong relationships with internal management, vendors, business units, regional and local managers, and department controllers
Skills:
- Strong management, relationship and customer service skills including international experience
- Strong negotiation skills in securing specific vendors and key contractual terms & conditions which meet AECOM’s business requirements
- Ability to analyze data and effectively communicate interpretations and recommendations
- Solid knowledge foundation in all aspects of corporate processes including service and supply procurement, iProcurement technology and business operations
- Thrives in a work environment that is fast paced, dynamic and constantly changing
- Highly organized and detailed, with strong multi-tasking skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication ability
QUALIFICATIONS: The Director should have 10-15 years of Procurement management and project management experience. The candidate must be proficient in vendor negotiation and contract execution. Solid financial, analytical and problem solving skills are a must. Undergraduate and graduate degree in a related discipline is preferred.
