1. Excellent communications skills and ability to interact and adapt to changing priorities. 2. Associates Degree in Information Technology, or equivalent work experience. 3. Minimum three years of experience managing Active Directory and Microsoft Windows Server 2003/2008. 4. Minimum three years of experience in a Help Desk/Customer support environment. 5. Minimum three years of experience installing, configuring and troubleshooting Windows, IPAD, and Mac networking issues. 6. Knowledge of VM Ware ESX Server Virtualization and HP SAN/NAS technologies. 7. Demonstrates understanding of TCPIP protocol, managing network equipment, and wireless technologies. 8. Working knowledge of Symantec Backup, Client Firewall and Antivirus technologies. 9. Working knowledge of Microsoft SMS, Altiris Deployment Server, or related desktop management software preferable. 10. Experience configuring peripherals such as mobile broadband cards, scanners, printers, etc. 11. Experience configuring and troubleshooting e-mail clients such as Outlook and Lotus Notes. 12. Expert knowledge of PC hardware installation, imaging, deployment, and configuration. Job Description: Basic Function:
The Senior IT Support Technician is responsible for the installation, maintenance, integration and support of all personal and mobile computing hardware, software, and networks within the URS Corporate Executive Offices. The Senior IT Support professional will provide technical support to Corporate Office and Executive personnel while ensuring the efficient implementation and timely operation of computer systems within the environment.
Scope: This position provides technology support for Audio Visual, PC, Mobile Devices, Printers, Storage, Backup and Server support for 100+ staff in URS’ San Francisco, CA office.
Duties and Responsibilities:
1. Provide desktop support and manage incident reports to resolution in a timely and efficient manner. 2. Act as a liaison between San Francisco staff and other Corporate IT Support organizations to resolve end user enterprise application issues. 3. Create and maintain system standards and documentation for desktop software installations and configurations. 4. Perform basic Active Directory and system administration functions such as creating accounts, resetting passwords, managing groups, performing backups, managing printers, and working with supporting IT vendors. 5. Provide after-hours support, as required, for hardware and software related issues. 6. Provide support a local Ethernet network, both wired and secure wireless solutions. 7. Support the installation of new technologies and devices, as may be required.
Performance Criteria:
1. Demonstrates ownership of issues, communicates progress, and effectively manages problem resolution. 2. Strong, effective and clear oral and written communication skills. 3. Maintains positive staff response on support surveys.
