Job Description:

Minimum Requirements:

• Bachelor of Science in Engineering
• Registration as a Professional Engineer in North Carolina or ability to obtain within 6 months
• Minimum five years of relevant experience and at least three years of experience working on NCDOT projects.
• Master's degree in related engineering discipline may substitute for 1 year of experience.

Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities:
• Working knowledge of AASHTO LRFD Bridge Design Specifications and NCDOT bridge design policies and standards
• Experience with prestressed and cast-in-place concrete design and/or steel design.
• Working knowledge of spreadsheets, word processing, and standard office software.
• Working knowledge of industry standard bridge design software for the position such as Microstation v8, CONSPAN, RC-PIER, MERLIN-Dash, Mathcad, etc.
• Ability to work independently and take on larger, more complex tasks
• Excellent written and oral communication skills

Job Description:

The Infrastructure & Environment Division of URS is actively seeking a creative, highly talented Senior Bridge Engineer for immediate employment in the Morrisville, NC office. The appropriately qualified applicant will be able to demonstrate an established career in Civil/Structural Engineering with progressive experience in bridge and transportation structures design and analysis. URS is proud to provide our employees with exciting, challenging projects. The incumbent can look forward to projects that include bridge design and post-design services, as well as bridge inspection and rating.

Incumbent Responsibilities:
• Design and analyze various bridge and other transportation related structural elements
• Work independently to prepare structural design calculations and construction document
• Coordinate the design of bridges and/or transportation related structures with the other project team members including NCDOT
• Task and/or project management
