Minimum Requirements: Bachelor Degree in Engineering, Environmental Science, or related degree. URS is looking for motivated, team-oriented individuals to be part of our expanding Environmental Compliance Division as an Environmental Compliance Specialist with a strong focus in air quality. The ideal candidate will have eight years of relevant experience in multi-media environmental compliance work with one or more of the following: air quality (including permitting, emissions reporting, and air dispersion modeling), greenhouse gas estimation (stationary, area and mobile sources), solid and hazardous waste compliance, industrial wastewater and storm water compliance, as well as good interpersonal and organizational skills, strong Microsoft Office skills (i.e., Word, Excel, Access), and good technical writing skills. Must have basic understanding of California and Federal regulations regarding air, water and hazardous waste. Job Description: The URS Long Beach office is looking for an Environmental compliance lead to perform California and federal regulatory analysis. This engineer/scientist will work with teams to prepare permit applications, emission inventories, perform compliance audits, and provide on-going compliance support. To perform these tasks, field work will be required at client sites. The engineer / scientist will conduct analyses to evaluate the air quality impacts for any source(s) of pollutant emissions, (i.e., industrial, utility, commercial, institutional, and transportation activities). Specific tasks may include development of quantitative emissions estimates, greenhouse gas emission inventories, application of various standard computer models to calculate emissions or air quality and health risk impacts of emissions, environmental compliance auditing, waste characterization, regulatory interpretation and preparation of compliance plans, as well as preparation of permit applications, and documentation of these activities in technical reports.
