Helping our communities stay safely on the move.  Our Managing Transportation Structural Engineers focus on the leadership and management of projects and programs for CH2M HILL's clients. These projects and programs are aligned to the strategic markets and underlying business objectives of the firm.

Our Structural Engineering Project Managers:
 

  • Lead transportation and bridge structure teams in all aspects of bridge design, from type, size, and location studies to final design and construction support services
  • Serve as team leaders for design tasks on small to medium-sized projects
  • Train, direct, and mentor junior level engineers
  • Serve as Project Engineers on large, complex projects
  • May coordinate design activities and meetings between staff, subcontractors, and CH2M HILL
  • Lead and support safety plan
  • Assist in business development and proposal efforts Interact with CH2M HILL project teams and client program level directors
  • Complete tasks within schedule and budget with teams comprised of different disciplines
  • Have strong written and oral communication skills and a team-oriented attitude
  • The selected candidate will be responsible for delivery of multiple medium projects or a large project and will have a demonstrated understanding and application of the knowledge and skill (competencies) required of a project manager; mastery of individual competencies becoming evident in selected areas; a demonstrated understanding and applicat ion of the BD/PD process; and have a broad range of knowledge with most of the technologies and delivery methods underpinning the project development process for Highways and Bridges .
  • The selected candidate will provide motivation and direction to diverse project team(s), typically through multiple task and/or functional managers .
  • Our ideal candidate is a self-motivated professional with a BSCE with a structural emphasis (MS in Structural Engineering preferred), PE with 10+ years of previous experience, and possesses a desire to concentrate his/her career on exciting bridge/roadway/interstate projects.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills are important for team interaction and career advancement.
  • Prior experience in NE Ohio is preferred; specific experience on Ohio DOT projects highly desirable.

Basic Qualifications



  • Bachelor of Science in Civil/Structural Engineering, with preference given to those with a Master's Degree in Civil/Structural Engineering
  • Minimum of 10 years of transportation design experience
  • Professional Engineer License in the state of Ohio or the ability to immediately obtain
