Minimum Requirements:

Education: Bachelor’s degree in Logistics / Engineering / Science or related field. Two years of job-related experience may be substituted for each year of college. Position requires the ability to obtain and maintain a SECRET level Security Clearance.

Work Experience: Ten years of job-related experience. Specific experience in DoD ship Logistics support, design / engineering, new construction, and/or Fleet maintenance programs is required. HM&E / Steam & Electric Plant / electronic / total ship platform background is required. Submarine operational experience and personnel supervisory experience is desired.

Special Skills: Strong organizational skills and attention to detail; excellent interpersonal skills with outstanding written and oral skills; a capability for working with various Team Submarine Integrated Product and Process Development Teams and Working Groups to facilitate Acquisition Logistics planning and execution for Logistics Engineering tasks. PC skill in MS Word, Excel, Powerpoint and Project is required.


Job Description:

URS Corporation is actively recruiting for a proactive, reliable Navy Submarine Logistics Engineer to provide contractor technical support services for Ship Acquisition efforts for the OHIO Replacement Program (ORP) (PMS397) in support of the Logistics Manager (PMS397T5). Assist government personnel in the Logistics Planning efforts for a Submarine Acquisition Program which recently completed its Milestone A key event. Duties will focus on providing ILS management and technical support including review of ORP Class Design / Build documents, including ship building specifications, program process documentation and participation in System Integration Team (SIT) and Major Area Team (MAT) support. Perform requirements research, analyses, report generation, correspondence initiation and coordination / tracking of action items and commitments using designated program management databases and tools, general program management support, and provide programmatic administrative support and coordination. Construct presentations and briefing materials. Maintain ORP Design Support document files / library. Perform other general administrative and program management tasks as directed. Interface with customer and coordinate tasks with Navy Participating Managers, Field Activities, and other contractors and Navy activities.
