Job Description

-Responsible for all accounting performed in the assigned Group; position has 12-15 direct reports including the group staff and all group market area controllers

- Responsible for all accounting-related responsibilities related to budget preparation for the group office; coordinates the budget activity for the entire group

- While reporting directly to the Chief Accounting Officer, also has business partnering responsibilities as well; provides assistance to the Group SVP and the VP-Finance as needed

- Responsible for ensuring that internal accounting controls within the group are effective

- Responsible for ensuring that all Internal Audit findings are addressed on a timely basis

- Responsible for ensuring that any control failures identified through SOX 404 testing work are remedied on a timely basis

- Coordinates monthly and quarterly reporting to management, including quarterly Market Area Reviews, MD&A, IRG, etc.

- Oversees and ensures that balance sheet reviews are performed throughout the group on an annual basis

Mandatory Education Requirements:

Undergraduate degree in accounting or equivalent; CPA preferred; MBA a plus

Mandatory Experience Requirements:

10 years of experience in accounting with at least five years of supervisory experience

Strong analytical, people and communication skills

Must be able to both lead a group and participate as a team member

Must have ability to make presentations to senior management

Must be able to make decisions on a timely basis

Must have good accounting judgment

Desired Experience:

Five years of industry experience

Some external or internal audit experience
