Job Description: 

Waste Management's Sustainability Services is seeking a Project Specialist for our office in Brampton, Ontario. The Project Specialist will serve as liaison between client and vendors in relation to service issues and contract management; and maintain pre-established standards for safety and environmental issues.


Responsibilities Include:


  • Coordinate logistics for removal of hazardous and non-hazardous waste from client sites.

  • Consult with client to identify, design and implement cost saving opportunities and proposals.

  • Resolving all escalated operational issues in a timely manner.

  • Administer client and vendor financial obligations including invoicing, reporting and contracts.

  • Facilitating financial and environmental reporting to help analyze client profitability and diversion rates.



Education and Experience:


Required:


  • Associates Degree in Environmental Sciences, Accounting or Business and one to two years of experience with responsibility in project/business management and/or environmental or services industry experience; Bachelor's in Business Administration may substitute for limited experience at the discretion of the hiring manager.



Preferred:


  • Bachelor's in Business Administration or advanced degree in related field (Accounting, Environmental Sciences). One year of experience in a supervisory level position.

  • Procurement experience would be an asset.





Other Knowledge, Skills or Abilities Required:



  • An entrepreneurial skill set is highly valued with the ability to creatively achieve stretch goals and provide new services and value to existing customers.

  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office with advanced Excel skills.
