CH2M HILL Senior Mechanical Designer – Portland, Oregon

The challenge? Helping to develop and provide high quality, leading edge heating, ventilating and air conditioning design solutions for large high-tech manufacturing facilities. You will be responsible for delivering quality HVAC design solutions that meet our client and project specifications while working within a multidiscipline engineering team. You should be a self-motivated professional designer with experience working on wet and dry HVAC systems for microelectronics facilities, and have a desire to grow personally as well as professionally with each new HVAC design job.

Our Senior Mechanical Designers:

Perform layout and design of HVAC systems for various types of industrial clients including microelectronics, datacenters, general manufacturing, food and beverage, consumer products, aerospace, aviation, chemicals and pharmaceutical facilities.
Design systems that include general comfort heating and cooling, those with accurate temperature or humidity control, unique pressurization requirements, and/or cleanliness requirements for clean rooms or cGMP applications.
Perform layout of ductwork systems based on a Process and Instrumentation Diagram (P&ID).
Are involved in creating calculations related to sizing and selecting of these systems.
Must have strong communication and interpersonal skills and have the ability to work in a fast-paced team environment with multiple deadlines.
Have ability to follow direction and to collaborate with other team members.
Must be able to execute tasks within budget and scope.

Basic Qualifications

Minimum of 15 years of experience in the design of HVAC systems
Thorough knowledge HVAC system layout and ductwork design for industrial facilities
Must proficient in AutoCAD
3D modeling experience including AutoCad MEP or REVIT MEP

Preferred Qualifications

Experience in the design of plumbing or fire protection systems or piping systems for utilities in industrial applications
Knowledge of codes
SmartPlant or Autoplant experience

Degree Required

High School or GED
