Minimum Requirements: B.S. with a construction-related emphasis with a minimum of eight years of construction experience including all aspects of project management duties (estimating, budgeting, pre-construction).
Computer skills must include Microsoft Project and Primavera Suretrak scheduling software, Prolog, and Microsoft office Suite (Word, Excel).
Must obtain negative result on drug screen performed in accordance with URS drug testing policy.
Must have a valid driver's license. Job Description: URS’ Chicago office has an opportunity for a Project Manager on a large vertical construction capital program. The Project Manager is responsible for interfacing with all technical, environmental, and operational aspects of the projects, both internally and external to the department. Project Manager will provide construction management services to ensure that project costs remain within established budget limitations and that the project schedule will be maintained so that the facilities are ready for occupancy and use at or before schedule dates.
Additional responsibilities include, but are not limited to preconstruction services related to constructability, staging, cost estimating, and scheduling, providing quality related management activities; developing and implementing procedures to process and administer contract documentation utilizing a client-approved contract management documentation software system; developing, administering, and operating a contract-specific web-based application; participating in client Government/Community relation activities and meetings; reviewing contractor construction cost estimates and schedules and preparing independent cost estimates and schedules at client's request; reviewing and certifying accuracy and completeness of pay request submittal packages; preparing bulletins, field memos, Notices-to-Proceed, and change orders for client review; ensuring that the contractor submits contract deliverables in accordance with project schedule; maintaining established interfaces with client and communicating any concerns, which require client involvement; issuing substantial and final completion notices with client approval; reviewing and approving as-built drawings and O&M manuals; compiling a binder of warranties and guarantees and certifying that they satisfy the requirements of the construction documents; excellent technical, organizational and communication skills and have a proven track record in planning, directing, and coordinating activities of a designated project to ensure that specified goals are accomplished within prescribed time frames and funding parameters; extensive knowledge of estimating, budgeting and Value Engineering; preconstruction and Planning; design process for preparing project documents; contract Negotiations; CPM scheduling; project controls; quality assurance; construction coordination.

The job duties for this position are conducted both in an office environment and at construction sites. The visits to the construction sites may be in inclement weather conditions, and with safety hazards at some sites.
The PM will attend city planning and zoning meetings in various communities. Work with the consulting Architect and Engineers for every phase of design and construction document process, includingconceptual, design development, permit, and bid set and construction documents. Writing subcontracts. Expedite shop drawings. Monthly billings. CPM scheduling. Coordinating construction. Preconstruction duties such as budgets, owner presentations, value engineering. Planning, design, contract preparation. Inspection responsibilities. Surveying. Responding to residential complaints. Inspections of project construction.
