Minimum Requirements: • Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, construction management or construction engineering, or demonstrated equivalent. • Proficient in Microsoft Excel and Word. Ability to use Power Point and Microsoft Project. • Minimum five years of experience with project accounting • Project Administrator Certification from PMI or willingness to obtain in first six months of employment

Job Description: This position provides project management support for the projects assigned, ensuring that projects are aligned with the project management goals and objectives that directly influence our performance as a company. Will report directly to Finance Management team and be responsible for meeting monthly reporting requirements. The successful candidate will be well organized, have the ability to multi-task and must have a good understanding of financial principles. Will work on assignments that are complex in nature where some independent action and a high degree of initiative are required in resolving problems. Will perform specialized accounting or planning activities following general or project departmental guidelines, procedures and precedents in support of various financial functions.
General Duties: • Investigate and assess project related issues and keep the Project Managers informed • Ad hoc financial analysis review and report creation • Document and organize project accounting, financial, and contractual documentation • Occasionally handle confidential assignments that require tact and diplomacy • Provide and update routine financial status information to the project and Team/Task Leaders. • Prepares and submit monthly reports for external clients. • Gather & compile appropriate information to complete project initiation (Management Approval Requests) & project set up (Work Authorization Forms). • Coordinate with PM to establish invoicing requirements, and where necessary prepare additional invoicing reports regularly, if required by the client. • Work with Accounting (procurement, accounts payable and invoicing personnel) to keep the projects in good financial health. • Provide monthly feedback to finance management team regarding aging accounts receivable and unbilled balances. • Develops and maintains project cash flow as well as establish and track Pay when Paid system • Investigate variances and coordinate resolution • Monitor actual commitments, deliverables, and expenditures against the project plans, establish budgets, and maintain current costs. • Provide technical support to project managers and construction managers on project estimates and changes. • Analyze and interpret current schedule status and performance against established baselines. • Analyze change order requests. • Collect monthly progress updates from project task leaders and input data into current schedule. • Consult with personnel in other departments or construction manager to discuss and formulate estimates and resolve issues. • Monitor correspondence that may indicate delay. • Generate monthly analysis of estimated costs to complete for each project and as a result may develop schedules, solutions and recommendations to resolve delay and cost issues. • Enforce policies and programs consistent with company philosophy and objectives • Facilitate final closeout of projects. • Other duties as required.
* Each project may have different needs, and each project manager may work differently with the Project Controls Professional. Therefore, all of these activities would not necessarily be required on every project. The intent is for the Project Controls Professional to develop a relationship with the Project Manager & other team members that would result in many of these activities on the larger projects.
