The challenge? Help our clients as part of their construction management team to oversee the construction of the world's largest UV disinfection facility. Our Construction Safety Representative careers provide you with the opportunity to work on exciting water infrastructure projects through serving the strategic and operational Environmental Health & Safety needs of our clients in North America. As an on-site Construction Safety Representative for our Construction Management Joint Venture (CMJV) team overseeing construction of a $1.3B Ultraviolet Disinfection Facility for the City of New York water system, you will be responsible for implementing CMJV HS&E programs and supporting CMJV team members in field operations on this large program. You should be a self-motivated safety professional with a bachelor's degree in Industrial Hygiene or Safety and a proven successful 5 year track record as a Construction Safety Representative with heavy civil construction experience and CIH or CSP certification, along with a desire to grow both personally as well as professionally with each construction safety opportunity.

Our Construction Safety Representatives:

Conduct comprehensive HS&E reviews of potential risks of the CMJV team on the project, assist in the investigation of complaints concerning HS&E risks to our staff, review potential mitigation measures, and conduct reviews to our program and NYC Dept of Environmental Protection (DEP) policies and procedures.
Maintain expert knowledge of specific requirements imposed by Federal/State/Local agencies including knowledge of NYC DEP HS&E policies and procedures.
Provide technical leadership and guidance to CH2M HILL/JV staff as well as observe that contractors are monitoring the implementation of their HASPs, sampling, waste handling and hazardous materials remediation plans.
Conduct HS&E training for CH2M HILL/JV staff, provide HS&E leadership and establish a safety culture within the project team.
Develop reports to NYC DEP and implement HS&E communication plans to promote HS&E and increase employees' awareness of HS&E issues and incident prevention methods for CMJV team.
Have experience with monitoring for airborne contaminants and dust control procedures as well as asbestos and lead.
Display strong organizational, communication and interpersonal skills and have the ability to work in a fast-paced team environment with multiple deadlines and oversight of a team of sub-consultants.

Additional Information:

This position is full time on-site with limited access to public transit, so reliable personal transportation is needed.
Relocation assistance is not available for this position and only candidates in the New York Metro area will be considered.

Basic Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Industrial Hygiene, Safety or related field
5 years of experience in implementing and managing HS&E programs on heavy civil construction projects
Ability to develop and deliver HS&E training
In-depth knowledge of OSHA regulations

Preferred Qualifications

In addition to the basic qualifications, we also desire the following:

Master's degree in Industrial Hygiene, Safety or related field
10 years of experience in implementing and managing HS&E programs on heavy civil construction projects
Strong familiarity with NYC DEP HS&E policies and procedures
CIH or CSP certification
