Minimum Requirements:
Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering or related field from an ECPD or ABET accredited school.
15 years experience in a consulting engineering environment, with a minimum of 10 years experience with New York City projects.
PE License in the State of New York.
Solid working knowledge of electrical engineering design principles and codes.
Strong computer skills (Microsoft Office Suite 2010, Adobe PDF Acrobat Reader, etc).
Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills.
Valid Driver's License.
Must obtain negative result on drug screen performed in accordance with URS drug testing policy.
Job Description:
This position will interact on a daily basis with engineers from the Mechanical, Plumbing, Structural and Fire Protection departments as well as other MEP discipline chief engineers, and will report directly to the MEP Department Manager.
Perform lighting and power calculations in order to select equipment.
Code Analyses.
Assign engineering calculations to junior engineers and drafting mark-ups to CADD technicians, and check/verify their product.
Design coordination reviews and QA/QC reviews.
Interact with clients, construction managers, architects and engineers from other firms.
Review progress of work by engineering technicians, meeting with internal project engineers and architects.
Review BIM drafting assignments with Department and Project Managers.
