Minimum Requirements:

• Minimum educational requirement is a Bachelor of Architecture (5-yr degree)
• No license is required to be considered or hired, however, the applicant must be eligible for licensure in Florida at the time of hire (without having to return to school first)
• If not already licensed, applicant must be enrolled in NCARB Intern Development Program
• Minimum 3 years of Architectural experience
• Minimum 2,000 hours experience in document production using Revit in the previous 2 years
• Ability to write coherently in English
• Mastery of AutoCAD/Architectural Desktop 2009 or later, MS Word, and MS Excel
• Thorough understanding of and familiarity with the Florida Building Code or the International Building Code and with NFPA 101, the Life Safety Code.
• Applicant must be legally authorized to work in the United States.


Job Description:

The Architecture Department of URS is actively seeking a creative, highly talented Architect for immediate employment in the Tampa, Florida office. The appropriately qualified applicant must be able to demonstrate an established career in Architecture, including programming, design, drawing production, and construction administration.

URS is proud to provide our employees with exciting, challenging projects. The successful applicant will be exposed to all aspects of a vibrant architectural practice, including client meetings, building surveys, programming, design, construction documents, code research, materials selection, and construction administration. You could also be called on to lend a hand in preparing and participating in proposals and presentations and interfacing with our in-house animation group.

Our projects primarily involve government clients and include airport terminals, armories, medical facilities, higher education, and the military. All engineering disciplines normally associated with building projects are represented in our Tampa staff, in addition to industrial hygienists, environmental scientists, planners, and landscape architects.

This position affords you the opportunity to hone skills in design, programming, project management, and client development. In this position, the successful candidate will be one of the key personnel in the Architecture Group in the Tampa Office, addressing challenging and complex architectural projects.

The successful candidate must possess excellent written and graphic communication skills, as you will be expected to be able to write cogent reports, memos, and letters. Additionally, programming studies and designs need to be communicated clearly to persons who may not be familiar with design-related terms.

This position requires that the candidate has spent a minimum of three years, post-degree, employed by an Architectural practice and engaged in the types of activities required by the NCARB Intern Development Program.

The successful candidate will develop skills in all aspects of the profession and opportunities for increased responsibility and challenges will develop as you successfully complete assignments.
