CH2M HILL Lead Mechanical Engineer Jobs - Houston, TX

Our Lead Mechanical Engineer position will provide you with the opportunity to work on exciting Energy projects in our west Houston office. Each day you will be an important team leader as you participate in the design, coordination, execution, and supervision of multiple mechanical engineering projects. You should be a self-motivated, detailed oriented Mechanical Engineering professional with 15 or more years of experience in oil and gas and petrochemical engineering facilities design. A registered PE (TX) registration is required.

Our Lead Mechanical Engineer:

Supervises, trains and mentors junior staff
Leads medium to large projects estimated around $100 MM and can supervise up to 12 people
Participates in design reviews, risk assessments, HAZODs and vendor bid evaluations
Performs applicable equipment calculations
Participates in the generation of proposals, scopes, schedules and budgets on mechanical engineering work (including piping, rotating and fixed equipment)
develops P&IDs, equipment arrangements, equipment specifications, data sheets, vendor proposals and technical studies

SPECIAL NOTE: Preference will be given to candidates residing in the greater Houston area. CH2M HILL will not sponsor a work visa to fill this position (e.g. H1B visa, etc,).

Basic Qualifications

Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field
Texas PE registration
20 years of experience in Mechanical Engineer for Energy and Petrochemical Industries
5 years of project lead/supervision of engineering team
Comprehensive knowledge of API and ASME mechanical and piping design standards and codes
Experience in the specification and procurement of fixed and rotating equipment and piping components related to the pipeline, oil and gas, energy or petrochemical industries
Experience with Pipe stress analysis using Caesar II

Degree Required

Bachelors or 4 Year Degree
