CH2M HILL Senior Specification Writer Jobs - Oakland, CA

Our Senior Specifications Writer jobs provide you with the opportunity to work on exciting and engaging large-scale infrastructure projects. Each day, you will have the opportunity to utilize your knowledge of transportation projects to prepare Specifications for highway and bridge projects. The Senior Specifications Writer prepares specifications for Caltrans and municipal clients for a variety of complex highway and port project types in our collaborative, multi-disciplinary firm. You should be a self- motivated professional with a minimum of 10 years in civil profession with minimum of 5 dedicated to specification writing for various highway projects per Caltrans standards. You must have excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills and strong computer skills including Microsoft office. Bachelors Degree in Civil Engineering or related is required.
Our Senior Specifications Writer:
- Prepares Project Standard and Non-Standard Special Provisions (SSPs & NSSPs) for highway projects, for all disciplines, meeting Caltrans standards
- Prepares Project specifications for other clients per their standards. Interprets engineering and contract documents (drawings and specifications) and assists the
- Project team in proper payment for all bid items
- Educates staff on issues related to specifications
- Collaborates with Project Teams, Project Managers, Architects, Engineers, and Designers
- Ensures correct budgeting for specification preparation
- Acts as a resource for technical questions Has ability to manage drawings from multiple sub consultants and translate into clear specifications
Basic Qualifications
- Bachelors Degree in Civil Engineering or related.
- Minimum of 10 years in civil profession with minimum of 5 dedicated to specification writing for various highway projects per Caltrans standards.
- Must have excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills and strong computer skills including Microsoft office.
